about me

I am a critical thinker who enjoys using design to solve problems and tackle challenges in and out of my profession. I believe that living with an insatiable curiosity and fearless determination is the only way to learn and evolve.

A self-taught designer originally, what started as a hobby in my teens in Venezuela, became my profession later on. I moved to Canada and attended Humber College, graduating with honours in Graphic Design. After graduation, I went on to work for design agencies in Toronto.

My experience has been shaped by working with diverse teams in Toronto for the last four years on various projects ranging from digital design and web design to print, marketing and production. My fiercely curious nature drives me to explore, question, and gain a deep understanding of the world and the projects I work on.

Lately, I’ve been mentoring students and have found that helping others by giving back has been the most rewarding part of being a designer. I truly believe that sharing knowledge and helping others makes us better professionals.

Outside work, you catch me biking, hiking, rollerblading or sitting in a park. Everything nature, I’m in!

TESTIMONIALS

"I’ve had the privilege of being a passenger along Oscar’s journey from student–designer as one of his professors at Humber College. Oscar possesses a unique perspective for design and a keen eye for the finer details that make his work visually stunning and functional. Oscar’s human-centred approach to visual communication allows him to create solutions that incorporate a blend of art, design, and technology to produce both tangible products and digital experiences."

— Mark-Anthony Karam, Professor & Program Coordinator of Graphic Design. Humber College.

“Oscar has been an invaluable asset to our studio. When our resources have been short, he has stepped in seamlessly to help us with a wide range of jobs. Oscar is the perfect combination of a talented designer with a can-do, positive attitude!”

— Andrew J. Ryther. Partner, Digital Director. Hambly & Woolley Inc.

"Oscar has volunteered for the Hassle Free Clinic for the last four years. His insightful advice and graphic design skills have allowed us to improve how we serve our clients. From our social media, website, client forms, layouts, presentations and graphics, he has stepped in to help us serve the community better using design, ultimately improving our customer experience."
